- | Jlo Beauty |
The number one question that Jennifer Lopez — aka JLo — has received over the years has been about her skin. Look at any picture of her and she’s literally always glowing.
It’s obvious that JLo has learned a thing or two about taking care of her skin after being in the spotlight for so many years, which is why she felt almost an obligation to share what she has learned and create a luxurious but accessible skincare line.
After twenty years of dreaming of this line, JLo Beauty has finally launched as of January 2021. The collection currently consists of seven skincare products that offer both instant and long term results. In fact, the brand went through over 100 rounds of product development to meet JLo’s standards of excellence.
If you’re a JLo fan, then you’re probably ready to try these products before hearing anything about them. But if you’re savvy about your skincare routine, you may want to know how these products are formulated and what ingredients are inside. And that’s exactly what we’ll discuss in this JLo Beauty review. Keep scrolling for all the details on the products, key ingredients, JLo Beauty reviews from real customers, and more.
What Are The JLo Beauty Products?
The Jlo Beauty line consists of seven products, including a cleanser, mask, serum, eye cream, complexion booster, and two moisturizers. Here’s all the details you need to know on each of the JLo Beauty products
That Hit Single Gel Cream Cleanser
Start your skincare routine with the JLo Beauty cleanser, a silky gel cleanser that transforms into a cream, to gently wash away makeup, excess oil, and impurities. The formula features glycolipids to clear our pore-clogging residues along with a soothing blend of rice bran, coconut fruit, and Japanese knotweed root extracts. With this combination of ingredients, the JLo Beauty cleanser should help to promote a brighter, clearer, more radiant complexion.
That JLo Glow Serum
That JLo Glow Serum is a very rich, multi-tasking serum that features a sugar-derived matrix to immediately lift and tighten the skin. Soothing Japanese rice sake and yeast-derived ferments soothe, condition, brighten, and plump the look of skin. The serum also features the proprietary JLo Beauty Olive Complex, which we’ll discuss in detail in the Key Ingredients section below.
ALTERNATIVE: We recommend Carrot & Stick The Repair Serum. It contains 7 plant-based peptides to promote plumper and smoother-looking skin.[g
That Blockbuster Hydrating Cream
It’s the morning after a late night out with friends and your skin looks as tired as you feel. You know to fill your tumbler to the brim with water and start sipping, but what about your skin? It needs some hydration, too!
The JLo Beauty Hydrating Cream is perfect for this scenario thanks to hyaluronic acid, one of the best skincare ingredients for replenishing thirsty skin. Plus, this cream is formulated with a ton of other amazing ingredients — like peptides, niacinamide, and collagen-protecting carnosine — that support elasticity and visibly reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Try out this hydrating cream. Your skin will thank you.
That Limitless Glow Mask
Is it just us, or does a sheet mask + takeout + Netflix sound like the perfect Friday night? Instead of picking any old generic sheet mask at Target, it may be time to invest in JLo’s mask to give your skin ingredients that actually provide benefits.
That Limitless Glow Mask is infused with one ounce of That JLo Glow serum, and it’s designed to mold to contours for targeted delivery and deeper penetration of key ingredients. Those ingredients include the JLo Beauty Olive Complex, Japanese rice sake and yeast-derived ferments, and a sugar-derived matrix. Together, these ingredients should help to promote deep hydration, luminous brightness, and smooth, baby soft skin.
That Big Screen Moisturizer
We love the ultra-light, whipped texture of this JLo Beauty daytime moisturizer that goes on smoothly and creates the perfect base for makeup. And the fact that it not only protects from UVA/UVB rays, but also helps to combat pollutants, free radicals, and blue light damage.
The formula combines a mineral sunscreen (zinc oxide) with chemical sunscreen ingredients (homosalate and octisalate) to provide broad spectrum SPF 30 protection. There are also hydrating and brightening ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and licorice root extract in this moisturizer. The result? A smooth, dewy, glowing complexion.
ALTERNATIVES: Carrot & Stick The Moisturizer. It’s overflowing with potent plant proteins, vitamins, peptides and amino-collagen.
That Star Filter Instant Complexion Booster
Whether you’re going out for date night or you just want to look luminous throughout the day, this complexion booster can help you achieve that “JLo glow”. The formula includes mineral pigments that reflect light and even out skin tone, thereby boosting skin’s radiance. This ultra-blendable, ultra-sheer formula can be worn alone, over (or under) makeup, or mixed with your favorite foundation or even body lotion.
That Fresh Take Eye Cream
The final product in the JLo Beauty line is an anti-aging eye cream that contains a blurring complex for masking dark circles and a patented peptide sequence to improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles. There’s also a sugar-derived matrix that can immediately lift and tighten your skin. Plus, this eye cream has a very silky texture that absorbs into the skin quickly without feeling greasy.
ALTERNATIVES: If you are concerned about aging around the eyes including bags, one product we recommend is Carrot & Stick The Eye Cream.
What’s Inside JLo Beauty Skincare?
JLo Beauty Olive Complex
The star ingredient that you’ll find in all of the JLo Beauty products is probably something you have in your kitchen cabinet: olive oil! In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, JLo said that olive oil “is a family tradition and beauty secret passed down from her grandmother and mother for healthy and shiny hair, skin, and nails.”
But the JLo beauty products don’t just contain your average olive oil. The formulations actually feature the proprietary JLo Beauty Olive Complex, a four-part olive blend that consists of:
- Squalane
- Fermented oil from cold-pressed Andalusian olives
- Olive leaf extract
- Extra-virgin olive oil
How Much Do JLo Beauty Products Cost?
JLo Beauty products are mid-range in terms of price. For example, The JLo Glow Serum costs $79 for 1.5 fl oz and the Hydrating Cream is $58 for 1.7 fl oz. The brand gives you the option to save 27% if you subscribe to receive the products everyone, two, or three months.
Where to Buy JLo Beauty Products?
JLo Beauty products are sold on the brand’s website and Sephora.
What is The JLo Beauty Return Policy?
JLo Beauty offers a sixty-day money-back guarantee (less shipping and handling) on all orders, even if the bottles are empty.
Is JLo Beauty Cruelty-Free?
The JLo Beauty animal testing policy states, “JLo Beauty is a cruelty-free line. We do not test products on animals or use raw-material suppliers that test on animals. All of our products are Leaping Bunny certified (the gold standard in ensuring no animal testing) and are included in their Compassionate Shopping Guide.”
JLo Beauty Reviews
JLo Beauty reviews on Styles Space (see below) were mixed.
The most helpful review: “I bought Jlo Beauty last December for Christmas. I actively tried not to get the subscription thinking that un- toggling it would definitely not give me a subscription. in March, I got a bill for $150 but I hadn’t received any more product so it was confusing because I had already paid 100% of everything that I had purchased prior in December 2021 then I started to receive notifications of like $75 being taken out of my account Still had not received any new product and I had moved. Tried to actively not to get the subscription so I was not expecting any money to be taken out of my account. Then I start tracking back $79 charges to PayPal which I have never signed up for any subscription with a PayPal account saying it was Jlo beauty, so I was unaware that that was even possible because I would never. Then I called them up in July or august because they have charged me $550 or something and they said “you didn’t like the product?” product was fine but I did not want to get a subscription and I didn’t get any new product, they said “they will fix it and will send me the product. They assured me that they would take care of me. I have now just gotten a bill from Collections saying that I owe them $150 after not receiving any new product and not wanting a subscription and already giving them $550 that they assured me they would send me product for. still have not received it thoroughly upset.”
